Biography
Having Mary join the team is more like a homecoming, as she worked with Dr. Gigliotti (the original owner of the practice!) early in her career!, she brings more than 25 years of experience as a dedicated dental hygienist. She is passionate about providing exceptional care that supports not only healthy smiles, but her patients' overall health and well-being.
Mary first met Dr. Elliott while earning her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. During her education, dental and dental hygiene students worked collaboratively in the clinic, fostering her appreciation for a team-based approach to patient care—something she continues to value today. She believes oral health is an essential part of whole-body wellness and takes pride in building lasting relationships with patients through trust, education, and personalized care.
Committed to lifelong learning, Mary continually seeks opportunities to expand her knowledge and stay current with the latest advancements in dental hygiene. Her clinical interests include periodontal therapy, preventive care, and the connection between oral health and systemic health. She is especially passionate about patient education, empowering individuals to take an active role in their oral health as an important part of their overall wellness.
Since joining Elliott Family Dentistry, Mary has embraced the practice's whole-health philosophy and enjoys contributing to the warm, collaborative, and patient-centered environment that makes the office so special.
Outside the office, Mary loves spending time outdoors and is an avid hiker. She lives in Baltimore City with her husband and their adorable rescue mutt, Willie Nelson Garcia.
